Jackfruit Seed Masala

Okay..I know most of you must be thinking that I’m quite obsessed with my garden that I’m not even leaving the seeds of my jackfruit produce 😉 Well….what to do ! I’m so proud of that tree ! 🙂

After smacking this up for dinner now with puri’s, I felt that it is worth sharing for its yummyyyy taste !

Ingredients :

15 – 20 jack fruit seeds (pressure cooked with skins. You can remove the skin once they are boiled)

10-15 garlic pods

1 tsp Daniya powder

2 tsps of Dry coconut powder

1 tsp khus khus powder

Few cloves, cinnamon, elaichi

1-2 Bay leaf

2 small onions chopped

1 tsp jeera

1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste

3 tsps curd

Chilli powder

Salt to taste

Coriander

Oil

Preparation:

1. In a deep bottomed pan,  heat oil, add jeera, bay leaf, onions and fry till the onions shrink.

2. Now in a food processor, add garlic, cloves,cinnamon,elaichi, khus khus, chilli powder, daniya powder, dry coconut powder and make masala powder.

20130315_1913343. Now add this masala powder to the onions and saute. Then add the curd. It should ooze out some water so add water only if needed. Add salt as per requirement. And then add the boiled and cut jackfruit seeds.

4. Cook till the consistency is achieved. Garnish. Check you seasonings before you serve with puri, roti, paratha or steaming white rice ! 🙂
