Raw Mango Coconut Pachadi (Chutney)

It has been a truly long time since I have written something in my food blog..I have been busy but that didn’t keep me from cooking.

I have a lot of recipes..mostly simple and quick ones to share in the coming days and here is one among them which I made yesterday 🙂

You’ll need –

1 fresh coconut – grated

1/2 Raw Mango – grated or ground coarsely along with coconut

4 Red Chillies

1/2 tsp Mustard seeds

1/2 tsp split chana dal (Senagapappu)

1/2 tsp urad dal (minapappu)

Turmeric – a pinch

Salt to taste

A tiny bit of tamarind – optional if your mango is sweet and not tangy.

Oil

Preparation :

1. In a bottomed pan, add about 1-2 tsps of cooking oil , cracle black mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal and curry leaves.

2. Add the dried red chilies next so as to prevent them from darkening.

3. Add the grated / ground raw mango

4. Saute a little add turmeric and salt to taste

5. Add the coconut.

6. Serve it with hot rice or appams !

You can also do the same by coarsely blending green chilies, coconut and in the end adding lemon instead of raw mango.
